Position Summary:
Experience with J2SE type development, meaning multithreaded, collections, and of course Swing. If someone is more of a mobile developer than desktop, then they must have the skills for the APIs, not just having ported from J2ME to a non-J2ME platform, or just worked with the non-J2ME platform. If someone is more of a desktop developer, they can learn the J2ME APIs if they are competent creating multi-threaded Swing programs.
Though certification is not a requirement for the position, a senior developer is expected to be competent to the point of being able to pass the Sun certified certification developer level.
Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills are essential, as senior dev engineer is expected to deal extensively with people at all levels. Pro-active approach to problem solving is essential.
